Several years ago, I photographed Cailin + Joanne’s lovely wedding in Madison, WI. For their flush mount wedding album, we chose a rich dark brown leather and an image on metal off set on the cover. Featured inside: their wedding at the Orpheum Theater, the most outrageous wedding cake in the world, and a lot of love.
A wedding album, at its most base level, is just a proven way to save photographs. Technology changes, you forget where you left the USB drive, and the loose prints get pushed to the back of the drawer. But an album demands to be kept in a safe space, and in return it protects the images it contains – protects them from light and dust and being torn or worn.
But an album can also be more than simply a practical solution – it is an investment in the preservation of your images, but it is also a creative expression of yourselves. The images you choose and the way they are shown are a part of your enduring legacy. The album that your children pick up will tell them so much about your wedding – what you valued, who you danced with, how you celebrated. And I hope that is exactly what Cailin and Joanne’s son sees when he is old enough to leaf through this Brown Leather Flush Mount Album with them!
