The impending super bowl has got me thinking back to Courtney and Andrew’s Hazeltine Golf Course Wedding just weeks after the Ryder Cup was hosted there. Events of international interest and travel, elevating the twin cities for a moment to greater importance. And yet what is left behind here is what has always been here – a sense of community, a love of nature, a stoic sense of humor that comes with cold weather, and a joy of celebration that accompanies the same.
Every good marriage should start with those things as well – celebration, a sense of place, laughter, and community- all as buttresses against the impending cold, all as celebration of the spring to come.
Find the light, and then sometimes climb into a prairie of tall grass, covering your clothing in thistles. Because these guys are worth the perfect light.
