My romance doesn’t need a castle rising in Spain
Nor a dance to a constantly surprising refrain
Wide awake I can make my most fantastic dreams come true
My romance doesn’t need a thing but you
– Rogers/Hart

Here is the thing about locations: it is really easy to over think them. All you need are two people, their connection to each other, and somewhere to walk around.

I love complicated architecture and grand vistas and views of city skylines just as the sun sets. But I don’t need those things – sometimes they can even be a distraction. It can be easy to make a photo about a place and not about the people in it.

Portraits are about people, and maybe never more so that for engagement portraits.

I want to show off connections and moments between two people – things they enjoy doing together and silly jokes they make.

For Cara and Nate, we played around in Minneapolis parks. They love to ride bikes together, the love being close to the lakes and paths that Minneapolis has in abundance, and so we roamed around Minnehaha Falls and Lake Harriet.
