Choosing a location for wedding photos is something I always discuss with my clients in the weeks before their wedding because it is such a large factor in the feel of your wedding photos. Sometimes, the reception or ceremony spaces are stunning, or a nearby landmark is a must have, but sometimes “great” locations don’t have to mean “pretty” locations.
For Holly & Ben’s wedding in rural Minnesota, we went to a few parks and took some lovely photos with lakes and flowers. Then on the way back to the church, Holly mentioned that there were some railroad tracks she liked and we stopped to take this photo. It is one of my favorites because the overcast sky made it possibly to capture the railroad tracks perfectly, and the windy day made Holly’s gorgeous silk dress blow around her like a cloud.
