Portrait of Wisconsin Artisan Cheesemaker Calendar preview

Earlier this summer, I had the honor of driving around Wisconsin with Jeanne Carpenter (cheese blogger at CheeseUnderground.com) as she interviewed artisan cheesemakers and I took photos for a calendar she orchestrated for Wisconsin Cheese Originals. The Calendar is now on sale ( $19.95 at www.WisconsinCheeseOriginals.com) and the calendar will also be for sale at the Second Annual Wisconsin Original Cheese Festival, November 5 – 7, at the Monona Terrace in Madison (a must go to for anyone who loves Wisconsin cheese). I am so proud of the photos I took of truly world-class artisans for this calendar, as well as the fact that I milked a goat along the way.

Among the cheesemakers was Wisconsin cheesemaker Andy Hatch (featured on the cover), holding the amazing  Pleasant Ridge Reserve, which just won Best of Show at the American Cheese Society annual competition in Seattle. Go buy this cheese. And then buy a calendar – it would make a great gift set:)

This photo illustrates the difficulties of taking photos at a goat farm – you will see Jeanne holding my light, a goat about to bite my camera, another goat investigating my camera bag which I hid in their feed bin, and me laughing hysterically.
