I was going for a fun and light but slightly vintage feel, which is what the college club vibe is all about anyway.

One of the best parts about the venue is that there is a lot of natural light. It used to be a mansion, and the rooms all have wonderful windows out to the grounds and let in a lot of light.  It was really fun to balance that with some of my off camera lighting to add more texture to the photos. These are some images where the balance of natural lighting and flash worked just how I imagined!

It was only delayed because they were engaged last year before Dane was deployed, so they scheduled this fun session to coincide with Dane’s week of leave. The cold weather kept us mostly inside, which was a great place to be in March!

I am so happy for you two, and I am sure your October wedding will be fabulous (and hopefully, a little warmer).

I hadn’t met them before the wedding (they live out of state) and so it was wonderful finding them so fun to work with. They had their reception in a lovely church in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and then the reception was in an actual barn (the Enchanted Barn)
