Milwaukee art museum wedding with dramatic night photo {favorites}

  • March 9, 2010 6:00 am

CNN Money recently did a piece on Tracey and her journey from West Point to her current work, and featured a few of my images from their wedding during the video. It got me thinking about their wedding photos, and what a fantastic time I had being a small part of Tracey and Miguel’s wedding day.

I had been so nervous going into this wedding at the Milwaukee Art Museum because Tracey and Miguel did not want to see each other before the ceremony, and their ceremony would be at sunset. Even though all the photos would be at night, they still wanted some of the feel of their location on lake Michigan, which meant that we had about 15 minutes of photos until there was total darkness. So, I grabbed their best man, Tubbs, threw a flash in his hand and told him where to point it while we rushed to the top of the art center for the last touch of the moon.

Jolynn & Tim’s East meets West guthrie ceremony & chinese banquet reception wedding

  • February 9, 2010 8:26 pm

Jolynn & Tim are amazing people to photograph. Not only do they look great (see below!) but Jolynn is always laughing and knows just how to make Tim feel comfortable, who in turn brings a stern strength wherever he goes. Also, did I mention that they planned a gorgeous wedding? There was a small ceremony on the Endless Bridge of the Guthrie theater, with an amazing view of the stone arch bridge and the Mississippi river. We played around the Guthrie for a bit afterwards, and then their reception was at Peking Garden in St Paul. Even though Jolynn had told me that they were going to have 12 courses of amazing food, I couldn’t believe how tasty the food was (even the sea cucumber!) Jolynn changed into yet another dress for their first dance, and the night was over all too soon. Thanks for choosing me to document such a laugh-filled and intimate day.

Jennifer & Aaron’s delightful Loring Pasta Bar & Varsity Theater wedding

  • February 9, 2010 3:50 am

Jennifer & Aaron were surrounded by fun people, a gorgeous day, and decadent locations for their wedding in September. We played around the Mill City Ruins park and St Anthony Main before heading to the Loring Pasta Bar in Dinkytown for their gorgeous and classy wedding ceremony. Then, a short walk to the Varsity Theater, certainly among the most unique venues in the Midwest for a wedding reception. What can I say – the food was great, the ambiance was lively, and everyone was laughing and dancing – it was lovely!

Lauren & Devin Engagement Photos

Lauren and Devin were great sports about climbing all over the park around Minnehaha Falls for their engagement session. Having all previously lived in Madison, we had lots to talk about, and I am very excited to photograph their wedding next fall!
