2017 was a good year for stoicism – finding happiness where you are, knowing the only thing you can change is yourself. And so I come to the end of the year and find, looking back, that I am deeply touched by this quote from Marcus Aurelius “The soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts.”

Yes, I do find that I am changed by the joy and celebration around me – mostly weddings, but also happy families, engaging professional imagery, and lots of great food. Basically, all sorts of reasons for gathering together, for sharing with a community.

I am probably one of the luckiest people to be surrounded by so much joy, so much laughter, so much texture and color. I can’t help but be dyed by the vibrant celebration of these gatherings.
