Minneapolis Elopement portraits can be big on style. A touch of 80s sets the stage for this very fun downtown Minneapolis elopement, starting with Minneapolis City Hall and ending with dinner at Spoon & Stable.

Getting a little weird for your elopement portraits
After photographing hundreds of weddings, I find that perhaps by biggest honor is getting to see the silly side of people. I really know people are comfortable when they let me document their laughter, their funny faces, and their weird.
And so, for this small downtown elopement, I so enjoyed every minute of the slightly-80s-dancing-laughing-classy joyfest that we shared.

Where to dine after your downtown elopement
The celebration concluded with their guests at Spoon and Stable restaurant. The small back rooms of this premier restaurant are perfect for more intimate gatherings right in the heart of downtown.

Frequently Asked Questions about Downtown Minneapolis elopement portraits
How far in advance should we book a photographer for elopement portraits?
It makes sense to find a photographer as soon as your date is confirmed. Many couples choose to elope on weekdays, and that often means that photographers are less likely to be booked in advance, so it might be anywhere from 10 months to several weeks ahead of time.
Do you need a permit for elopement portraits?
Generally you do not need a permit for portraits downtown. If you are having your elopement at City Hall or Government Center, couples often choose to have some portraits inside after the ceremony. These are buildings that are used by the public, and so they will have pedestrians using the spaces as well.
What are best portrait locations by City Hall?
The exterior of City Hall is gorgeous all by itself, and there are also green spaces around Government Center. Downtown Elopements are a perfect time to have more of the city in your photographs.
Do you photograph elopements in Minneapolis frequently?
Yes, many times a year. I’m very familiar with both Hennepin County Government Center and City Hall as ceremony and portrait locations. I also freuqently photograph intimate gatherings at Spoon & Stable.
