Gale Mansion Wedding Minneapolis -Cordelia and Jacob

Cordelia and Jacob, and their fall Gale Mansion Wedding in Minneapolis.

This is one of those times where a picture really does tell a thousand words, and I can’t quite compete with how joyful and emotional and lovely their celebration was.

Also the dancing was VERY exuberant, which is perhaps the biggest compliment I can bestow on a wedding, as it what I would wish for anyone who has ever danced – be exhuberant.

I think its safe to say that Cordelia and Jacob work hard, and then they bring that same dedication to celebrating with their friends and family.

They are based in Washington DC, and it was such a pleasure to coordinate with them across the country for the year before their wedding.

ABOUT WEDDINGS AT THE GALE MANSION

I’ve been fortunate to document several weddings at the Gale Mansion in the past. Like many mansions in Minneapolis, its smaller rooms are perfect wood-lined parlours for cocktail hour and mingling. Their garden level ballroom is much newer, and works perfectly for dinning and dancing.

Cordelia and Jacob had perfect fall weather, so their ceremony was outside on the side of the mansion. I’ve seen weddings inside the main salon, and even small weddings in the solarium.

I’m generally more focused on the interactions of people than on details. But including the space in photos of invitations and accessories makes details a part of wedding storytelling, like this invitation in the library of the Gale Mansion in Minneapolis

A lovely thing to document: people who are so happy that they just can’t keep it together.

As the youngest of 5 children, I value the few photos we have of us all together. So if you, like Jacob, have 10 siblings, (plus parents and spouses and kids) you should know that 1. That is awesome and 2. No problem. Let’s do this.

Making full use of the old spaces is always a priority of mine. The flash composite of their wedding party inside the main parlor is one of my favorite flash composites.
