Lumber Exchange wedding in Minneapolis

I had a feeling from the start that Beck and Bern’s wedding at the Lumber Exchange would be an amazing time. And it certainly was.

Their wedding also brought together so many personal elements from their own lives – the south american music that Bern connected with on his travels, the amazing green leather cowboy boots that Beck wore for the ceremony, the crying bridesmaids, the laughing parents.

Weddings are so much more than the addition of all of these things, but the details signify so much about what a couple values in their partnership and in their community.

I couldn’t be more thrilled to have documented this amazing day for these two remarkable people and the start of something even more exciting for the two of them.

HIGHLIGHTS OF LUMBER EXCHANGE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

The Lumber Exchange is full of textural stone walls and a sense of history. Those are elements that should come forward, even in this otherwise modern wedding!

GETTING READY AT THE LUMBER EXCHANGE

If elegant can’t include green cowboy boots for the bride, then what is even the point of elegance? Between the boots and the plaid bridesmaid shirts, the wedding day began with a nod to rural excellence, and progressed into total urban style.

WEDDING CEREMONY AT LUMBER EXCHANGE

What could I possibly say about this ceremony that you can’t see in the faces of everyone there?

Only that I loved the use of greenery to set off the ceremony space, and I hope everyone can be this joy-filled on their wedding day.

CELEBRATING AT THE LUMBER EXCHANGE

And as the evening went into cocktail hour and then toasts, documenting the candid moments becomes the most important aspect of wedding photography. It is made infinitely easier by laughter and connection.
