Lucy and David’s adventurous elopement in winter
Imagine this – your gloved hand reached out for the gloved hand of your partner, as you steady each other on the icy path before you are married.
What if the adventure of being in winter is part of your elopement story? Lucy and David brought along two very accommodating witnesses for an adventurous trek through the snow and into their wedding day.
Their ceremony was inside, where winter coats and boots could be replaced by finer things. But the raw heart of their connection remains the same, despite the temperature.
Weddings and elopements happen in so many ways. Finding the best way to tell your story is an honor that I hold dear. I will gladly trek across that same ice with my camera gear as we make amazing images that show off the love that you two share.
This winter was brutal, but this love is fierce. We trekked through ice and snow into their elopement. Lucy, in her winter finery. A moment in the solarium before the wedding ceremony I don’t care much for photo gimmicks in and of themselves. But I do sometimes find that a different set of tools can capture a moment in a way that feels more immersive. This is a panorama, containing about 80 images stitched together. The very shallow depth of field with a panorama like this keeps the focus on Lucy and David but shows off the expanse around them.

Love is an adventure The Gale mansion proved an amazing space for the indoor part of their winter elopement A toast to warmth and people worth trekking in the snow for.
