Look – you might not get photos with your sweetie very often.
In fact, I hope that when you travel, you spend so much time enjoying your adventures that you only come home with a few photos together.
But getting married is a big deal! And there will be so many moving parts on your wedding day -constraints of time and clothing and locations and families.
Engagement photos show more about what all the other days together are like.
For Katie and Luke, the perfect engagement session definitely involved bringing their pup and a little champagne picnic while we had the most amazing sunset of the entire fall.
After these engagement photos, I can’t wait to see how much fun we have at your wedding!
A perfect sunset is a lot of luck, and also a little planning. Like finding the perfect partner! Late summer light FTW on this – so golden and warm, and just perfect for these two. The wind picked up and played with Katie’s hair and made for unexpected snuggles A totally favorite photo from this engagement session – a little wind, the golden sunlight, and a quiet moment of connection Please bring your puppy, and put them in sweaters forever and ever. Engagement photos can feel really staged, but there are always storytelling moments happening! I will never get tired of the bridges in Minneapolis -close enough that they are architectural backgrounds, always reminding us of the Mississippi Family Photo with puppy! Pop the cork! Katie was legit terrified. I think I like the full color a little more for the sunset, but I love this as a monotone silhouette – their organic forms and the blocky skyline together (for photographers: flash behind them at full power) And a huge windstorm to wind things up!
