You should be in photos, not taking them
When was the last time someone cared about making sure that YOU look great in photos?
That’s my job – I care about it a lot.
I know you’ve probably put in a lot of work just to find me already, and to coordinate having photos taken – let me worry about the rest of it.
Oh, hey 2022.
After months of distance, there are so many stories to share – perhaps more than ever before!
Lets figure out how to tell those stories together.
I’m fully vaccinated (and boosted), and happily continue to wear a mask and social distance for your portrait session!
Minneapolis Portraits – flexible and fun
I offer a few different types of portrait sessions, because there are a lot of reasons to get portraits!
FULL SESSION | 625 – Tell me the places that mean the most to you – your home? The path you like to walk together? The park where you met? A full session focused on the location that will tell your story in photos. This is perfect for couples and for families that want a variety of portraits that are specific to their favorite places.

COVID QUESTIONS ABOUT MINNEAPOLIS PORTRAITS!
• HOW DO SESSIONS WORK WITH COVID?
For Minneapolis portraits, most people still choose to plan for outdoor locations. I have suggestions for locations that will work well for this (thank goodness for all the outdoor space in MN!). We can also look at less popular times for more crowded locations (the Stone Arch Bridge area in the morning, for example). When I do photograph inside, I continue to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
• HOW DO I SIGN UP?
Shoot me some info and I’ll get in touch asap!
Engagement photos can feel really staged, but there are always storytelling moments happening! I call this “Lilac bush, with couple. Minneapolis” Snuggles and giggles together is a great mix A totally favorite photo from this engagement session – a little wind, the golden sunlight, and a quiet moment of connection The city and you Rain storms make for gorgeous skies and dramatic clouds – made more blue by use of tungsten lighting for this Minneapolis engagement session.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT MINNEAPOLIS PORTRAITS
• TRAVEL?
For Full sessions, travel is included anywhere in the metro area. SHORT sessions are at locations of my choosing (generally Minneapolis parks).
• DO WE GET THE FILES?
All sessions include the final edited images as high resolution downloads. You have wide latitude to use those images for all your personal uses (social media, make your own prints, email them to family, etc). I retain the copyright, so I can also make prints for you, and I have some options for larger prints and small albums available in your final gallery. For prints larger than 8×10, look for a professional print lab for quality and longevity (that could be me or a lab of your choosing!) There is no watermark on the images, and you can use them without crediting me (I love the shout out if you want, but not necessary!)
• WILL YOU TELL US HOW TO POSE?
People are generally not naturally great at posing, and it would be kind of weird if you were! I do a lot of coaching (I think that is a great word for it!), mostly aimed at making you feel comfortable so that your laughs are genuine and your connection feels true, while also being in a great location and posed well.
• CAN WE RESCHEDULE BECAUSE OF WEATHER?
We can reschedule for whatever reason. period. Let’s be flexible! For weather, generally unless it looks like unrelenting storms, there is a lot of magic to be had, but only if it’s the kind of magic you are looking for. We’d ideally get something on the books now, then check-in a few days before about weather and final logistics.
• CAN WE BRING OUR DOGS?
Yes! I love dogs at portrait sessions. Ideally you could bring a dog buddy – someone who could drop the dogs off toward the end, or who could just take the dogs on a walk whenever we don’t need them featured. For SHORT portrait sessions, a dog buddy isn’t necessary.
• I ALWAYS LOOK AWKWARD IN PHOTOS
This is not a question, but I get what you are saying 🙂 It is difficult to feel natural and comfortable in photos, particularly when you have a rush to get them finished (like, every family photo and work photo anyone has ever participated in). That is worlds away from having a nice walk around while we chat and take photos. Basically, that is my job, and I don’t want you to worry about it.
Testimonials

Both Greg and I were feeling uncomfortable about being photographed and we walked away talking about how much fun we had. I have so many nice words to say and I don’t even know how to say them. We just adore you and are so excited to see the photos. Thanks for such a special experience.

We recently used Becca for some outdoor family photos and we couldn’t be happier with how they turned out! Becca has a calming & easy-going presence which allowed us all to be relaxed and actually enjoy our time.
