People all the time ask me if I’m comfortable taking photos in dark spaces.
And I generally say that some of my best portraits are taken at the dark, with no time to spare. And that is exactly what happened for Bria and Alex’s wedding at the Old Post Office in St Louis, with gorgeous effects.
Bria and Alex met in Minneapolis (where I also photographed their engagement photos), but now live in Colorado and planned their wedding in St Louis from afar.
It was important to them to not see each other before the ceremony, and so during cocktail hour we photographed all the family photos and wedding party photos and photos of the two of them.
Which was perfect – the anticipation of the wedding ceremony was over, and we could all totally enjoy the gorgeous night and historic exterior of the Old Post Office building.
And then the dancing started! I’m not sure if I learned how to wobble, but I do know that I loved trying!
Many thanks to my second shooter, Raquita for all her gorgeous work, post-wedding drinks, and holding a light for all these portraits!
