Meg and Peter’s St Paul Athletic Club Wedding was exactly the kind of classic old St Paul affair that this space was designed for.
Timeless and elegant, but still approachable and practical, the architecture perfectly framed their ceremony. The tall windows of the ballroom embraced their reception. And the gorgeous stone work just enhanced the photos of the two of them, having a quiet moment together in the midst of a wonderful day.
All of which is to say, it was a very good time.
I had also worked with Meg and Peter for their engagement portraits on the high bridge, so I knew that Peter is a bit of a photography enthusiast. It seems to run in his family as well, so it was an honor to rise to the challenge of a whole line of family members who expect the best and deserve it.
Meg and Peter didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony, so we had some fun ahead of time taking photos in the gorgeous lobby space with each side at a time. Afterwards, I only had a few moments to capture the rest of the family photos, photos with the entire wedding party, and some portraits of the two of them (this time also included moving all the chairs and rearranging the space). Challenges are a perfect reason to stay focused, and they were able to enjoy their cocktail hour as well, spending time with guests and family before dancing for the first time.
