St Paul College Club Wedding MN – Nicole and Tim

I am a storyteller. That story involves two happy people, their community of family and friends, and generally some gorgeous spaces.

What does that mean in terms of images? I focus on happy and comfortable images with the wedding party and family, joyful candid images, and timeless documentation of day, all with an eye towards bringing the space into the images.

For Nicole and Tim’s St Paul College Club Wedding, bringing the space into the images was an especially high priority given that Tim is an architect and had been in the middle of renovating their kitchen during their engagement photos, so I know he takes a professional interest in architecture.

And the St Paul College Club is a spectacularly special space for a wedding. I’m sure that the historic details spoke to Tim and Nicole’s love of space and architecture, I’m sure the warm wood and classic lines spoke to both of their sense of style,  and I’m sure the smaller spaces spoke to their desire for an intimate and comfortable wedding, even as it was elegant.

After all, that is exactly what the mansions on Summit Avenue were built for – celebrations and dances in their ballrooms, dinning and talking in their salons, and drinking in their dens. As much as the Twin Cities have changed in the 100 years since those mansions were built, our desire for community and connection endures. Likewise, the ceremony of marriage has shifted slightly, perhaps with more DJs and fewer exchanges of cattle, but we still celebrate immensely whenever two people make a commitment to each other.

I so enjoyed working with Nicole and Tim, and with their whole families, to document and celebrate with them.
