I have been jokingly referring to Grace + Andy’s wedding as the most stylish St Paul wedding of 1930.
As modern as they both are as people, they bring a timeless quality to their relationship – they share joy with their family and friends, and they clearly find comfort and love in each other.
Grace wore the same wedding dress that her Grandmother and mother wore, Andy brings a touch of Cary Grant to his demeanor, and they will obviously pass all their love onto their future children for many more generations to come.
WEDDING CEREMONY AT ST THOMAS MORE CHURCH
I’ve truly enjoyed documenting weddings in St Thomas More church in St Paul. The interior has a huge impact for guests, and it creates a purposeful mood for the ceremony while still being bright and welcoming. Finding a catholic church for a wedding ceremony can be daunting, and this one is really lovely.
RECEPTION AT HISTORIC LIBRARY IN ST PAUL
I have so much to say about the amazing JJ Hill Library space for wedding receptions, and it couldn’t have fit in better with the timeless vibe of Grace and Andy’s wedding. Even dancing seems more stately in the large vaulted spaces. We made great use of the stacks of books and the higher up floors. I’ve written a lot about my general recommendations about JJ Hill Library Weddings.
WHAT THE COUPLE SAID ABOUT THEIR PHOTOGRAPHER (thats me!)
They wrote me a wonderful review on google. It is honestly humbling to hear about the photos that will really matter to families. Thank you for choosing me to document your wedding!
Our wedding photos are beautiful. Becca facilitated so many shoots and groups flawlessly, including our large families. She even performed a minor miracle of persuading Andy’s grandfather to look at the camera. He didn’t even do that for his own wedding photos!

How many couples have had this view on their wedding day since it was built in 1926? Simple white flowers for this intricate and timeless vibe! Hand embroidered wedding details The ladies get ready in the basement space of St Thomas More church Wearing her grandmother’s wedding gown, and crushing it They made a lot more buttons on dresses when her grandmother wore it “Happy Tears” might be my favorite way to greet people with handkerchiefs. These ring bearers and their hand embroidered greetings! Andy waits for Grace by the altar of St Thomas More I used a tilt shift lens for this ceremony photo – the color and architecture of St Thomas More are so playful for such a serious space. Just married and exiting St Thomas More Church! Grace & Andy’s wedding in St Paul was, in many ways, the most stylish wedding of 1930, except that it happened in October. They just have a lot of style. Perfect lighting in a dark cave 50 feet away from me? Not a problem – this image is actually composed of 7 photographs stitched together for the perfect dramatic lighting at the JJ Hill Library.
