On Mariachi bands, planning from afar, and this Wayzata Country Club wedding
I parachuted into Ashlie and Adam’s wedding going at full speed and then we never stopped. I didn’t meet Ashlie and Adam (they planned their Wayzata Country Club wedding from Florida), until the morning of their wedding. When that happens (and I often work with couples from the coasts coming back to MN to get married) the first hour can be a whirlwind of meeting people and learning names and taking photos. With Ashlie and Adam, their community of family and friends (the wedding party, their large families, their friends traveling from all over) just evolved and grew throughout the day, culminating in the salsa dance party that Wayzata always needed.
Along the way there were many quiet and beautiful moments. The Wayzata Country Club was in perfect green summer splendor for their first look and all the formal photos. The old wooden church in Minnetonka felt intimate and offered gorgeous views of lake Minnetonka. The reception was stunning in whites and golds and pinks, punctuated by an every changing array of happy people surrounding Ashlie and Adam.
But, oh, goodness, who doesn’t love a good dance-all-night, where-did-the-mariachi-band-come-from kind of party to really celebrate the start of a beautiful marriage.
