Why you can’t be happier than these two in their White Bear Lake Backyard Wedding
Go.
Be married from your childhood home, surrounded by warm memories and photographs of you. Be married on a sunny day at the church you belong to, together – Unitarian and welcoming, simple and heartfelt.
Laugh with your guests who don’t know the rules to the lawn games, laugh with your family that sings you Lutheran songs, laugh as you sit in front of a curtain of paper cranes you made. Dance, under the stars, to your favorite band and share it with those you love.
Go and do that, because I can’t imagine you could be more happy, even if you traveled the globe around, even if you ate macrons in Paris.
There is nothing I can say about Kari and Yasha’s wedding that isn’t said in the open joy they share for each other, the deliberate way they planned their wedding, and the way the shared it with everyone present.
Thank you, Kari and Yasha, for letting me document your wedding, for introducing me to a great band (The Lower 48!), for re-igniting my love of origami, and still not teaching me how to play kubb (your wedding attendants truly had no idea what they were doing).
Ceremony: White Bear Unitarian Universalist
