Marissa and Joe’s Minneapolis Depot wedding was a modern love story with all the fixings.
I’ve been photographing weddings for 15 years, so I don’t have a lot of “firsts” anymore, but I had at least 3 at Marissa and Joe’s wedding:
- Marissa surprised Joe with a small gospel choir to sing her down the aisle before their Jewish ceremony.
- When asked it they wanted to take a few photos outside at sunset, they said “no, we need to keep dancing!” They danced for the next 3 hours with all of thier guests, which was the best choice ever.
- Their wedding photos were featured in People magazine and the NY Times.

It was honestly an honor to document Marissa and Joe’s wedding on its own merits.
But I would be lying if I didn’t tell you how THRILLED I am that it was also featured in People Magazine!
Marissa and Joe’s epic love story spans years, it stopped and started again, it feautres loss and joy. All of that made it an amazing story to feature in the LOVE issue of People magazine last February.
I’m so excited to finally share more photos from Marissa and Joe’s Minneapolis depot wedding. From their flower-strewn chuppah to their custom modern kettubah and the band that got the dance floor full, it was a celebration for the ages!
