For Teagan and Logan’s engagement photos, we played around Centennial lakes park. Straddling Minneapolis and the suburbs, this little park packs a big punch – prairies space (tall grasses all the time, please!), manicured gardens, and of course the lake. But the best features by far are a good sense of humor and a sense of adventure. These are also one of the best features to bring to marriage, or any kind of shared life. I love pouring over the seed art – tiny dots of alfalfa and canola seeds, placed one at a time into a portrait of Prince; thousands of ears of corn, hand selected based on criteria I don’t understand. To walk through Rice park on a beautiful evening is pleasant. To do so with someone you love is perfect. And so we walked around the best of St Paul in late summer – the JJ Hill Library, then over to the High Bridge for a night-scape with the skyline. Because to find the right city, at the right time, and to love it, comes only a close second to finding the right person to share it with.
